Vera Beumer, Violine

Vera Beumer (2001) started playing the violin at age seven.

From 2010 to 2018 she studied at the University of the Arts Utrecht in the young talent class (Academie Muzikaal Talent) with Liesbeth Ackermans en Chris Duindam. Vera has also been coached by Emmy Verhey. She took part in the documentary about Emmy Verhey as her protégé, which premiered at the Dutch Film Festival in 2017. In September 2018, Vera started her studies at the Royal College of Music with Daniel Rowland and Gabrielle Lester.
Vera is admitted with a scholarship title for the academic year 2019/20 as Aston Lark Insurance Scholar. She has also received a scholarship from the Dutch VandenEnde Foundation.

Vera has performed as a soloist with several orchestras, such as Philips Symphony Orchestra, the Dutch Youth String Orchestra (NJSO) and the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, during a project for young talents. At age eleven, Vera debuted as a soloist with Wieniawsky’s Legende.

She has won several first prices in national competitions, for instance the Princess Christina Competition and Britten Violin competition.

Vera played as a first violinist in a string quartet for four years. This quartet was coached by Alexander Pavlovsky, first violinist of the Jerusalem string quartet. The string quartet attended four editions of the Zeister Muziekdagen, where they had masterclasses with members of quartets such as Borodin quartet, Pavel Haas quartet and Emerson String quartet, as well as Valentin Erben.

From september 2016 until september 2018 Vera was concertmaster with the Dutch Youth String Orchestra (NJSO)
